Career：
Born in 1928 in Saitama prefecture, growing up as a son of a rod crafter. He learned under Tosaku the 4th together with Toasku the 5th, 東静、東猛、秀作、東昭、6代目東作competing with them everyday.
Story：
He is known as one of the 27 people who learned from Taijiya Tosaku, a famous rod crafter in the Edo period. According to Tosaku the 6th, nobody beat him when it came to choosing the right materials and was also passionate about lacquering process. He particulary liked crafting rods that were popular in the Edo period. He had expertise in lacquering such as "Shripm finish" which the Naritaya the Kabuki family adored and also developed his original technique such as "five color finish".
