This service is designed to maintain your rod in optimal condition by carefully assessing and servicing it. Regular maintenance ensures that your rod remains in top shape for continued use.

Service Details:
Recommended Maintenance Frequency:
We recommend sending your rod for maintenance at the end of each fishing season. Regular maintenance helps to correct any warping or misalignment that may develop over the season and ensures your rod is in good condition. If you anticipate a long period of non-use, it's especially advisable to have your rod maintained before storage.
Detailed Maintenance Processes:

Fire Straightening (Hi-ire):
Skilled craftsmen use heat to straighten any bends or distortions in the bamboo, restoring the rod to its original form. -
Joint Adjustment (Komi):
We adjust the joints of the rod. Bamboo is a natural material that can expand or contract with changes in humidity or use. Proper adjustment ensures that the joints remain snug and secure. -
Oiling:
The rod is cleaned, and a special oil is applied to protect the bamboo, enhance its condition, and maintain its natural sheen. -
Rod Condition Check:
The entire rod is carefully inspected by a craftsman. If any repairs are needed or if there are specific usage notes, we will inform you.
Important Notes:
- Fire straightening is the most challenging aspect of rod maintenance. We strongly advise against attempting this process on your own, as it could result in damage to the rod.
- While slight bends in the rod won't necessarily affect its performance, regular maintenance will help keep your rod in the best possible condition.
