WAZAO-IPPON is set to relaunch a collection of reconstructed WAZAO, originally deadstock from the 1960s and 70s. These bamboo rods, meticulously restored by skilled rod builders after decades of dormancy, have returned with an undeniably dope vibe. We hope you'll grasp these bamboo rods, once swayed by the winds of the Showa era, and face the headwinds of the Reiwa era with a rebellious spirit.

This is why we’ve chosen "Resistance" as the theme for this inaugural release. In a time when it feels like freedom is increasingly stifled, this collection is for those who, like us, desire to live as freely as possible. The featured item in this release is the nobe-zao—a traditional rod made from a single piece of bamboo without any joints, though we use the term nobe-zao for convenience based on modern practices.

Fishing with a **nobe-zao** offers one of the most direct connections to the pull of a fish. When you assemble the multiple parts of this rod, stored like a Matryoshka doll, into a single piece, your senses become intimately connected to the outside world (True Nature) through nothing but the line and bamboo. This rod has the potential to adapt to various fishing scenarios, making it an ideal product for learning the characteristics of bamboo rods. The "nobe-zao style" WAZAO is perfect for light fishing across a variety of settings—from lower to midstream rivers, ponds, and lakes, to pier fishing. It not only sensitively conveys the bites of small fish like dace, minnows, and crucian carp directly to your hand, but also allows you to feel the full life force of the fish through the entire rod, offering an immersive dialogue with nature.
